Oh My God, what happen with that picture? is your tummy like that? well its because to much fluffy cakes and ice cream, plus eating out at fast-food joints ..and abracadabra… your waist and stomach fully of bulges. Ok, i don’t means to scare you, but this issues very popular being discuses by the girls or a woman. :D , sure that they want to feel pretty and more sexy, but if they treat her body like this, can you make us sure that they can be enjoy their normal life?

The way the commercials tell us, losing weight can be as easy as popping a magic pill or brewing a powerful tea. No need to stop easting those mega-yummy food, no need to get sweaty and achy working out; the pills and teas and food supplements will get rid off the annoying extra fat quick as lighting. Do they really help in our battle against the bulge? Are they safe? would you believe that some slimming product actually kill?

There are several kinds of slimming products , each with its own way of doing the job. Here’s a brief description:

  1. The Orlistat Pills.
These pills, marketed under brands such as Xenical , work by making the fat in the food we eat impossible to absorb. That way, the fat will not enter our bloodstream. The problem is that our food contains much more than simply fat. There are also carbohydrates and proteins which still contributes a lot of the calories in our food. So unless you consume low-calorie foods, and these usually are low in fat anyway, taking orlistat alone won’t really help much. Plus, when you are still growing, you need all kinds of nutritions, and yes, that includes fat, which is an important component for hormones. More over, if you use the drug over a long period of time, you will also lose the vitamins A,D,E and K, which are absorbed along with the fat, and this can lead to more serious problems.
  2. Appetite-Suppressants.
This group of drugs contains active components like Phentermine, D-norpseudoephedrin, and Diethylpropion. They work by tempering with the brains mechanism that tells when the body is hungry. So , if you use this drug, you can feel energetic for hours without feeling hungry. But the downside is that the drug also affects the heart, making it beat faster, and this can make you feel dizzy or couse high blood-pressure , which can be deadly.

  3. Diuretics.
  4. They work by causing frequent urinations , so strictly speaking you don’t lose weight, but lose water. If you lose to much water, however, a condition called dehydration happens, At its mildest it will only make you skin look dry and wrinkled. But as its worst, it can seriously damage your kidneys. Besides pills, which usually contain furosemide as their active component, slimming tea also works as diuretics, a good reason why we should be careful even with products labeled as natural.

  5. Food Substitutes and Supplements.
  6. Substitutes work by providing low-calorie nourishment , so you will get all the proteins and vitamins that you need without having to worry about the carbohydrate and fats. The problem is that usually these food substitutes are high in protein and the kidneys will have to work extra hard to get rid of the waste product of protein, which is flushed away in the urine. Food supplements come in several types. There are fiber-like supplements which will expand in the stomach, creating a sensation of fullness do you wold not eat so much. There are also the fat-burner supplements that contain I-carnitine , which along with pantothenic acid , helps speed up the metabolism of fat. However. This kind of supplement will be of little help if you don’t change your diet.

The bottom line is, there really is no quick and easy way to shed those extra kilos you carry around. But when alternative is all those serious condition like kidney damage and malnutrition, a bit of sweet along the jogging track and a little control when it comes to food really don’t sound all that bad, huh?
